Whittle Programmed Maintenance have been part of the supply chain for Mears Plc on their Brighton & Hove Council Contract for over 5 years.

They were delighted to support Mears Apprenticeship Open Day and to offer Painting and Decorating Apprenticeships for its South East Office.

As well as working for Mears this regional office has a range of clients in the South East

The Open Day was held on Friday 24th April at the BHCC Housing Centre, Eastergate Road, Brighton.  Mears are celebrating 10 years of working in partnership with Brighton & Hove Council providing repairs and maintenance on their social housing stock.

The Whittle team comprising Ivor Thomas, Oscar Cullinane, Caley Brosnan, Lisa Burt, George Waker,  Mick Knight and Craig Dainty manned the desk throughout the day, giving out application forms and information sheets and talking to any potential apprentices.

Ivor Thomas, Group Operations Director for Whittle commented “recruiting apprentices and developing talent in-house is the best way for us to create a skilled, motivated and qualified workforce”.

Whittle was a finalist in the Specialist Contractor category at the prestigious Business Awards held in April in London and undoubtedly their commitment to people and training has played a significant part in this recognition
