Hankinson Painting Group have been named in the inaugural publication of London Stock Exchange’s "1000 Companies to Inspire Britain". A list of the 1000 most inspiring small and medium sized companies in the UK (www.1000companies.com).
It follows 6 months research by the London Stock Exchange and recognises SME’s that have managed to grow and outperform their peers, win new contracts, expand offices and also create jobs during the financial crisis.
It is their way of highlighting the importance of SME’s to the UK economy. There are 4.5 Million SME’s in the UK and they feel they are shockingly under reported yet are of exceptional importance to the UK economic growth and job creation. They want to change this view and their opinion is shared by the Daily Telegraph who are the media partner on the report.
The 1000 Companies represent a rich and varied group of businesses from across the UK. It includes some household names including Mulberry, the design company known for luxury bags, Aardman Animations, the creators of Wallace and Gromit and Hunter Boots.
Stephen Hankinson, Group Chief Executive said “I am thrilled that we have been included in the report and that we sit alongside so many fantastic companies. This has been an exceptionally challenging period for the economy and in particular the Construction Sector and to see our efforts to grow and develop during that period is most rewarding for all at the Company”.
Xavier Rolet, CEO, London Stock Exchange Group said “when we began this project 6 months ago, our aim was to bring to life what we know instinctively to be true, that these companies are the lifeblood of the UK Economy.”
